“Robert Rauschenberg, the groundbreaking American artist, was born in 1925, and to celebrate the artist’s centennial, his foundation has embarked on a two-year program in partnership with an international roster of institutions commemorating the artist’s 100th birthday.

The New School is part of that consortium of institutions, which includes a new exhibition presented by The New School Art Collection and the Vera List Center for Art and Politics that brings together 15 prints owned by the university, opening on February 19, 2026. Robert Rauschenberg & the News: Select Prints from The New School Art Collection, features prints created between the 1960’s and 1990’s that reveal the artist’s sustained engagement with the rapidly shifting political landscape of the twentieth century, registering urgent responses to moments of social and political unrest as they unfolded in real time.”
