Lecture

The second John McDonald Moore Memorial Lecture is delivered by Michael Brenson, author of Visionaries and Outcasts, former art critic for The New York Times, and Professor of Curatorial Studies at Bard College.

Michael Brenson received his PhD in art history from John Hopkins University. He served as an art critic for The New York Times from 1982-1991 and as curator on several exhibitions in the 1990s, including Magdalena Abakanowicz: ‘War Games’, at P.S. 1 in 1993. Brenson has taught at the elementary, high school, college and graduate school levels. In 2001, he was an associate professor at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College. For 2002, he will be teaching for the third time in Bard’s MFA program. Brenson also participated as a Getty Scholar.
