Now in its twelfth year, The Public Art Fund has produced this ongoing lecture series of presentations and discussions by some of today’s most influential artists, critics, and curators, including Takashi Murakami, Jeff Koons, Rachel Whiteread, Matthew Barney, Gabriel Orozco, Pipilotti Rist, Tony Oursler, Catherine David, Kasper Konig, Okwui Enwezor, and Lynne Cook.

Michael Joo’s provocative sculptures and videos explore how science, religion, history, and media inform interpretations of our surroundings. More interested in the ways we perceive than what we are looking at, Joo tests the limits of a viewers’ beliefs and plays on preconceived notions.

The artist was born in Ithaca, New York (1966) and lives and works in New York City.

The Public Art Fund Talks is an ongoing series of discussions and presentations by some of today’s most influential artists, critics and curators. The program is organized by the Public Art Fund in collaboration with the Vera List Center for Art and Politics.
